Celebrating Creativity and Community

This past weekend, the Youth Assistance Coalition was buzzing with energy, creativity, and community spirit as it hosted the ProPhound Kids First Showcase—a vibrant celebration of young talent, local artists, vendors, and community supporters coming together under the inspiring theme “Together We Create.”

The event was a resounding success, bringing together youth, families, local artists, and community members for an unforgettable day of artistic expression, inspiring speeches, and collaborative spirit. Attendees were treated to a diverse lineup of performances by talented young artists, including music performances and spoken word, showcasing the incredible creativity flourishing within our community.

A highlight of the day was the pop-up art gallery, featuring artwork created by youth participants and local artists. The gallery not only displayed their artistic talents but also served as a powerful reminder of the importance of providing young people with platforms to express themselves and thrive. The youth participants collectively made $800 in commissions from their artwork.

Throughout the event, speakers emphasized the vital role of community support and collaboration in fostering young talent and building resilience. The presence of local vendors added a lively marketplace atmosphere, offering crafts, snacks, and resources, further strengthening the bonds within our community.

Hosted at the very space where youth access resources and participate in ProPhound programs, the showcase underscored the transformative potential of togetherness and shared creativity. It was an inspiring reminder that when we come together—artists, youth, community members—we can create a more vibrant, supportive, and empowered future.
